ITNS Virtual Annual Meeting FAQs

General FAQ

Due to COVID-19 and current Illinois rules and regulations, an in-person meeting is impractical to hold. The safety and health of ITNS members, attendees, and exhibitors are our priority.

Live and pre-recorded sessions will be spread throughout the original meeting dates, October 21-25, 2020.

The full meeting registration fee includes: all general sessions, concurrent sessions, e-poster presentations, access to a virtual exhibit hall, and nursing continuing education, handout materials. Attendees of the Annual Meeting can earn up to 30 hours of CE and CEPTCs. All attendees will have on-demand access to the educational content for up to one year.

Annual Meeting attendees can earn up to 30 hours of CE and CEPTC. Preconference events are not included in the Annual Meeting registration, attendees of the preconference events may earn up to 8 hours of CE and CEPTC.

The program schedule will be posted online at itns.org in July.

All educational sessions will be recorded and made available to attendees who register for the meeting for up to one year.

Virtual exhibit and sponsorship opportunities are available on the ITNS website. The virtual exhibit hall will include features that will allow exhibitors to share, network, engage attendees in real-time, drive traffic, and highlight their products as each company would be able to in a 'live' exhibit environment. A base exhibit package will be available for purchase, along with several opportunities to customize the virtual exhibit space to support each company's goals. Please contact the ITNS Professional Relations and Development Manager, Mary Paulson for any other exhibit or promotional questions.

The Exhibit Hall will have specific hours just like the live meeting. You will have a chance to speak with the exhibitors live thru Zoom chat and can also schedule times to talk with them that are more convenient for you. The exhibitor information and Industry posters will live on our website for 6 months after the meeting. Please view our website for virtual exhibit hours.

We will have product theaters, coffee breaks and an Opening Reception to meet with you peers and industry.

There will be a passport program, as well as a chance to win a free registration to next year's meeting by visiting all the exhibitors. Prizes are gift cards to Amazon and Starbucks. Some of the exhibitors may have their own giveaways.


Zoom FAQ for Attendees

You can download the Zoom Desktop Client for Mac, Windows, ChromeOS and Linux, as well as the Zoom Mobile App for iOS and Android from their Downloads page.

Virtual private networks (VPN's) can slow down your connection, so make sure to disconnect from your VPN before entering the ITNS Annual Meeting.

You can also open a zoom link in your web browser if zoom if you don't have the Zoom Client downloaded.

A Zoom account is not required if you are strictly joining Zoom Meetings as a participant. If someone invites you to their meeting, you can join as a participant without creating an account.

All sessions will be accessible via Zoom. Individual Zoom links will be available for each session and only registrants will have access to the links.

  1. Login to ITNS 2020 Virtual Meeting online.
  2. Go to the desired session you would like to join.
  3. Select if you would like to connect audio and/or video and click Join. If you haven't enabled the setting to automatically join by computer audio, you can test your speaker and microphone before joining a meeting.
  1. Save your favorite ITNS Virtual Background to your computer or mobile device. Virtual Backgrounds can be found here.
  2. In the Zoom Session move your mouse to hover over the bottom of your Zoom Video. You will see an arrow next to the "Stop/Start Video" button.
  3. Click on the arrow, then click, "Choose Virtual Background…"
  4. The Settings screen will pop up. Click the "+" button where you see Virtual Backgrounds. This will allow you to add an image from your computer or mobile device.
  5. Once the ITNS background is uploaded, make sure you click on it in Settings.
  6. You can click out of Settings once you see your Virtual Background.

The mute button is on the bottom left. Please be aware of when your surrounding when you are not on mute.

The "Chat" button is on the bottom of your screen when you hover over it with your mouse. A separate chat tab will appear to the right of your screen or in a pop-up window if you are in full-screen mode. You have the opportunity to chat with everyone and ask questions to the speakers.


Planstone FAQ for Attendees

You will be able to access Planstone from the Know Before You Go email or on your registration confirmation email.

Planstone supports the latest version of Chrome, the current and previous release of Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft browsers. To use Planstone, cookies and JavaScript must be enabled.

The sessions will be accessible for one year after the conference. These sessions will be housed under the "Sessions" tab.

You can access the Help Desk by clicking the "Help" button in the top right corner of the screen. This "Help" tab will be run by the ITNS staff. If you need to contact Planstone directly, then please use the "Feedback and Support" button.

You will be able to see how many credits you have earned at the top of the "Sessions", "Additional Events", and "Posters" tab. A credit will be added after you have completed a session evaluation for every presentation you watch/participate in.

The live sessions will be included on the "Home" and "Full Schedule" tab. You will click the Zoom link that is included on those tabs and it will take you to the live session. Recordings of the live sessions will be added to the "Sessions" tab.

All pre-recorded sessions will be under the "Sessions" tab.

Go to the "Posters" tab and click on the Poster you would like to review or discuss. Once you click on the poster, Planstone will open the poster in a new tab and a small window will pop up that says, "Discuss the Poster." Once you post a question or comment, then the author will get a notification and will respond shortly. You can hide this discussion tab by clicking the arrow at the top of the pop-up screen.

Click on the "Certificates" tab and choose the certificate you are looking to obtain. A new screen will open and click the "Evaluate Now" button to start the evaluation. Once you have completed the evaluations for the sessions you attended, you will be able to download your certificate immediately.
