Guides
The Research Committee has developed several guides to assist the transplant nurse in locating and using Evidence-Based resources to improve their nursing care and on how to share their experience and research with others.

BRIGHT Study—Building Research Initiative Group: adHerence in Transplantation
ITNS is in the early phase of an International Multi-Center Adherence Study in collaboration with the Leuven-Basel Compliance Research Group under the leadership of Sabina De Geest, PhD, RN, FAAN.
This study aims to address an important gap in the literature: gaining a better understanding of health care system and health care team related factors associated with non-adherence to the immunosuppressive regimen. Preliminary evidence shows that non-adherence rates differ among transplant centers (Weng et al., 2005), continents and countries (Denhaerynck et al., in press). We therefore plan to compare patients’ non-adherence levels between transplant centers, countries and continents and explore possible factors and dynamics explaining potential adherence differences. A number of variables will be measured (i.e. adherence to immunosuppressive regimen, financial burden of drug regimen, level of chronic illness management experienced, socio-economic and clinical variables), primarily with self-report instruments. 30 patients per transplant center will be included.
Research Resources
The following tables were developed to assist you in locating information about research instruments/tools that have been used with transplant subjects. Each table contains the instrument/tool's name, and information about variables, populations, descriptions, reliability, validity, language, copyright, fees, sources, and references. The reliability and validity information was obtained from published sources. However, please contact the tool developer for additional information. If you have any suggestions for changes or corrections, please contact the ITNS office.

Research Email List
Welcome to the new and improved International Transplant Nurses Society (ITNS) Research Special Interest Group (SIG) Email List operating from ITNS. This list was developed to aid dialogue and assist networking of ITNS Research SIG members that are interested in sharing ideas related to research!
You are automatically signed up to be on the list if you have indicated that you were interested in being a member of the ITNS Research SIG.
As chairperson of the ITNS Research SIG, I invite you to read, reflect, and respond to the research-related postings. The Research Committee will post informative research-related information on a monthly basis, but please post any research-related questions or comments that you might have. I will post the first research-related topic today.
